Technical Network Architect - 12 months - Brussels One of our important clients is currently looking for a Technical Architect for a 12-month contract in Brussels. Day rate is negotiable. MAIN ACTIVITIES Designing and implementing architectural guidelines and, where appropriate, standards within an existing architectural framework: - Ensures performance, high availability and disaster recovery of deliverables - selects technology based on functional requirements and in compliance with technology standards - implements best practice, in line with the IT roadmap and strategic vision - enriches business cases on the basis of architectural technological expertise - monitors the landscape relating to the technological domain of its expertise - enriches the architectural technology roadmap on the basis of its technological expertise: strategic, tactical in terms of quality and cost-effectiveness - specifies the technical aspects of the specifications for IT purchases and for the technical evaluation of tenders - proactively formulates proposals for technological improvements to optimise the maintenance capacity, stability and performance of the IT landscape - validates the proposed solution concepts Communication and consultation: creating a basis and overcoming the distance between the technical, functional and project stakeholders: - provides input, on the basis of its own expertise, on the scope, timetable and budget, and submits these to the Architecture Board for approval where appropriate - examines project definitions and statutes with the project managers - attends various consultation forums (management, experts, architects, etc.); - communicates existing needs, opportunities for improvement, etc. - communicates the vision and standards for enterprise architecture Knowledge management: monitors trends and developments in the business sector in order to pursue a coherent, high-performance IT architecture in line with IT strategy and developments in the area of expertise: - examines the applicability of new technologies (including conceptual demonstrations) - participates in the development of knowledge management - encourages the active sharing of knowledge - represents the organisation at various IT architecture forums - monitors market developments - makes an active contribution to the changes needed to further professionalise and improve the quality of service provision Requirements Knowledge of French or Dutch and English (spoken and written) Relevant professional experience of 5-10 years Master's level or equivalent through experience Remote work: min. 2x/week onsite (Brussels) In-depth knowledge:LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN, MPLS, VRF, SDN, routing & switching, endpoint security, NAC, user VPN, PKI, IPAM, Cisco SD Access stack (DNA, ISE...), Infoblox, Algosec, Cisco security producty (FMC, WSA), F5 (LTM, APM, ASM), ...
