OVERVIEW Responsible for decontaminating, reprocessing and sterilization of equipment, supplies and surgical instrumentation. Cleaning of labor rooms and maintaining stock of supplies.

EDUCATION

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Current BLS.

QUALIFICATIONS

Recent experience in a sterile processing area recommended.

Recent experience working in the Operating Room and/or Obstetrical Units recommended.

Demonstrated ability in cleaning of patient equipment and areas.

Ability to lift 10 kg, transport patients, specimens, and supplies as required.

Ability to work comfortably around labouring patients and newborns.

Decontamination, preparation and sterilization of trays, basin sets, etc.

Demonstrated ability to adhere to the principles of asepsis technique.

Demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively.
