ROLE SUMMARY:
The Volunteer Support Officer is an integral role within the Unit Support Team, responsible for specialised and dynamic support of VICSES volunteer units and their management teams along with coordination of functions including administration, compliance, grant applications and logistics that maintain unit operational readiness.
The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) plays a major role in Victoria's emergency response activities during emergencies for which it is responsible including Flood, Storm, Earthquake, Tsunami, Landslide, along with supporting other agencies and departments as required under section 6A of the VICSES Act. Employees may be engaged directly in emergency response roles or, where trained and assessed as suitable, may be called upon to support emergency operations when needed.
