TO attain the basic required skill level for a Utility Operator on the Pot Line through on-the-job training. To assist the Assistant Cell Operator, Cell Operator, Cell Technician in operating reduction cells to produce molten aluminium effectively, efficiently.
Key Accountabilities - Assists the PTM operator in changing anodes safely and to the required standard by removing and replacing back pot shields, transferring anode reference mark, monitoring pot voltage, activating/deactivating anode set logic and anode dressing.
- Assists and ensures that pot beam raising operation is performed as per procedure and in a safe manner.
- Prepares the tapping hole prior to metal tapping.
- Skims the crucible to remove dross.
- Performs metal and bath sampling for quality and chemistry control purposes.
