DESCRIPTION

Nurses will care for post-operative cardiac patients, who require constant observation, high alert nursing care and the use of specialized intensive care equipment. Common illnesses cared for include congenital heart disease or anomalies, acquired heart disease and heart transplants, along with the care for patients on extracorporeal life support systems.

Must have a minimum of 2 years of current experience in CVICU and balloon pumps, and must uphold the mandatory BCLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred certifications consist of Swans and Hemodynamic Monitoring.
