Job Description Job Summary:
A Cytotechnologist is responsible for preparing and analyzing microscopic slides to detect abnormal cellular conditions. They perform screening and assessment of gynecological and non-gynecological specimens, including fine needle aspirations, ensuring accurate diagnostics.
Responsibilities:
- Examine and interpret cytology slides to identify cellular abnormalities.
- Process Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) specimens and assess adequacy for immediate evaluation.
- Perform cytology preparation work for GYN and non-GYN samples.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols and quality standards.
- Document findings using established reporting systems, such as Bethesda.
- Collaborate with pathology and laboratory teams to ensure accurate diagnoses.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science degree with an ASCP Registry or Certified Cytology School certification.
