Summary

Scrubs in and assists in the OR suite. Obtains all supplies/equipment for specific surgical procedures, sets up and maintains the sterile field.

Job Duties

+ Cares for all patients who enter the OR suite. *

+ Acts in the role of a scrub nurse. *

+ Maintains certifications in all areas within scope of practice (if applicable). *

+ Orients new scrub personnel as needed. *

+ Sets up a sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for procedure. *

+ Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. *

+ Gowns and gloves, surgeons and assistants. *

+ Helps in draping sterile fields. *
