Fife Nature Records Centre is the Local Environmental Records Centre for the area, providing a quality wildlife information and data resource. We collate and share biodiversity information for a variety of purposes, including informing decision-making, guiding conservation work and contributing to research. This role offers an opportunity to assist and support the Fife Nature Records Centre Information Officer in this work and gain experience in the sector.
Core duties include collating, validating and entering biological records into the Recorder 6 database. The role also involves using a range of other tools, including Record Cleaner, Excel, ArcGIS and R, as well as accessing records from online platforms such as iRecord and the NBN Atlas.
The role will involve interacting with people with a wide range of recording experience – from beginners submitting records to expert recorders who verify them.
