Monitors compliance with policies and procedures, AAMI guidelines, infection control policies, and other regulatory agencies, (JCAHO). Directs the preparation of sterile supplies, instruments and equipment. Coordinates the routine activities of the Sterile Processing staff, plans and schedules work for the group. Responsible for tracking sterile processing data, performance improvement documentation, and administrative records. Maintains an adequate level of instruments in circulation, reordering replacements when necessary, and schedule and control all instrumentation repairs in a cost effective and efficient manner. Serves as the administrator of the SPM instrument tracking system, is expert in all facets of its operation, maintains and updates the data base as necessary, produces monthly reports and documentation as requested by Distribution Manager and Director of Materials Management.
