Band 5 Staff Nurse in Coronary Care (CCU) at Royal Stoke Hospital, Newcastle Under Lyme.
CCU is a 13‑bed acute cardiac unit and emergency portal, a tertiary centre for PPCI. The role requires care for patients with life‑threatening arrhythmias, heart failure and other complex cardiac conditions.
Main Duties
- Assess patients’ needs, develop care programmes, and implement and evaluate these programmes for patients and their relatives.
- Provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the department.
- Manage a group of patients.
- Lead the unit when rostered, demonstrating competence in leadership and supervision.
- Act as a role model to students, nursing assistants, assistant practitioners/trainees, and nursing associates/trainees.
- Present a positive, professional image of the organisation and the nursing team.
