Ultrasound Technologist
To assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic images of various organs and structures of the human body through the use of high frequency sound waves (ultrasound). Ultrasound is an extremely operator dependent imaging modality this position requires an advanced understanding of anatomy and vascular physiology.
Responsibilities
General:
- Performs biopsies and other interventional ultrasound procedures.
- Rotates weekends and on call must be able to respond within 45 minutes for call procedures.
- Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
- Involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient.
- Identifies any physical limitations of the patient and deploys intervention when necessary.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
