Job Summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections is hiring a Senior Physician for Las Vegas, Ely, or Lovelock. Under administrative direction the position performs professional medical duties and functions, involving general examinations, diagnosis, care and treatment; supervises the medical services team, and performs related work as required. Prescribes medication by using standard pharmacological procedures, in order to facilitate treatment and care of individual offenders. Must be knowledgeable of Nevada Revised Statues applicable to the practice of medicine within Nevada state institutions and facilities. Maintain scheduled clinic hours to provide care to offenders consistent with the hours of operation for the institution. Provide emergency service as needed. Cooperate with the Deputy Attorney General's office.
