<p>Psychology is a growing profession within the National Maternity Hospital. Psychology services centre on meeting the psychological needs of patients and their families in the context of their physical and/ or mental health conditions with the primary aims of improving health outcomes for patients, reducing psychological distress, and enhancing overall wellbeing and quality of life. The hospital currently has a principal specialist clinical psychologist attached to the perinatal mental health team and a senior clinical psychologist attached to the neonatal department – neurodevelopmental followup team. We are in the process of expanding our neonatal psychology inpatient service.
