16-bed Specialty Care Unit, patients managed by hospitalists, 1:3 RN/patient ratios, 1 NA and 1 PCT on per shift. Patient populations include simple sepsis, DKA, pain management, respiratory failure (Bipap and short-term ventilator, < 48 hour), CHF, HTN, MI with no interventions, withdrawal management, renal failure (hemodialysis), conscious sedation management and vasopressor management, strokes with no interventions
