Position Purpose:

The Preop/PACU department at Mount Carmel St. Ann's averages about 30 cases per day. The registered nurse would expect to see pre-surgical and post-surgical care cases. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2 in the PACU and a new patient can be expected in preop every hour. This is a face paced department with great energy and teamwork. Staff are cross trained in preop and PACU which offers the opportunity to gain additional skills and interact with different patient populations. This team is comprised of tenured staff that are always happy to mentor new colleagues.
