This position involves working in an Intensive Care Unit on a night shift schedule. The shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Rotating weekends are expected as part of the scheduling. The unit has 22 beds with a staff of approximately 60. Patient ratios are typically 1:2, with some instances of 1:1 based on census. Types of equipment utilized in the unit include IABP, Impella, ventilators, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and more. Typical procedures performed in the unit include rapid sequence intubation, CABG, valve replacements, thrombectomies, EVD insertions, and administration of vasopressors. Candidates should be driven individuals who are willing to learn and adapt to the dynamic environment of the ICU. Team players who are patient safety advocates will thrive in this role.
