**JOB SUMMARY**

The Respiratory Therapist Assistant, under general supervision, performs a variety of technical respiratory therapy treatments to contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE**

+ Performs a variety of respiratory therapy treatments (including but not limited to PEP, IS, and O2 checks, Incentive Spirometer treatments, and oxygen therapy) in a quality manner and in accordance with established procedures.
+ Under general supervision, instructs patients in the use of various treatments in a thorough and professional manner.
+ Updates patient records with all therapies provided, and reports all unusual signs, symptoms, or side effects immediately.
+ Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used and accurately files all corresponding charges.
