Position: Researcher in Obesity and Pain Biology
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with expertise in in vivo studies, mass spectrometry, and AAVs for a 3‑year fixed‑term role starting 1 September 2026 or after agreement.
The group investigates protein‑protein interactions, focusing on PDZ interactions and the synaptic PDZ domain protein PICK1. Our work includes developing small‑molecule inhibitors, studying PICK1’s role in addiction, pain, obesity, and metabolic regulation, and using omics, intravital microscopy, and whole‑brain cFOS light‑sheet imaging to understand PICK1 biology.
Obesity prevalence has doubled over the past 30 years. This project aims to deepen understanding of PICK1 biology in sensory neurons and its relation to adipose tissue, with the goal of improving anti‑obesity therapies without inducing lean‑mass loss or nausea.
