Job Description

The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a Research Assistant to support the UAEU Start-up Research project titled Next-Generation Toroidal Propeller Systems: Computational Design and Experimental Validation for UAV Applications. The research assistant will contribute to computational and experimental research on toroidal propellers for UAV applications.

• CAD development and meshing
• ANSYS Fluent CFD simulations
• Aeroacoustic prediction
• 3D printing of propeller prototypes
• Thrust-rig testing
• Flow visualization
• Acoustic measurements
• Data analysis
• Literature review
• Preparation of journal and conference outputs
• Focus areas: CFD modelling and aeroacoustic prediction; experimental testing, instrumentation, flow visualization, and acoustic analysis
