The Cardiology Procedural Care Unit is a 16 bay preperation and recovery unit supporting the patients moving throught the EP and cardiac cath labs. This area is responsible for the monitoring of patient care after procedures including removal of access devices, removal of site closure/pressure devices, and accessing a safe transition from post-procedure to discharge. Patient education, medication reconciliation, and self-care instructions post-procedure are aspects of the nursing role within this unit.
