Description Summary:
Assures appropriate staffing is maintained on all Nursing Units; responsible for the clinical and administrative supervision of overall hospital activities in the absence of Administration and Nursing Director/Managers.
Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision and guidance to all areas by visiting units/departments throughout the shift to ascertain status of areas, interpreting policies and regulations to staff patients, and visitors, coordinating placement/transfer of patients, and responding to staffing issues
- Screens incoming patients for appropriateness of admission/transfer and facilitates placement in proper level of care
- Functions at all times as the hospital administrative representative by acting as hospital spokesperson, as appropriate, investigating incidents and events and taking appropriate action, interview to provide assistance in problem-solving, and conveying a positi...
