The Recycling Officer is integral to the successful delivery of the Food Waste Collection Project, a high-profile and time-sensitive service. This role is pivotal in engaging with residents, promoting behavior change, increasing participation in recycling initiatives, and supporting broader environmental and Council objectives. Primarily field-based, the position also involves administrative and project support responsibilities, acting as the public face of the service.
Responsibilities
Lead community engagement efforts across street scene and waste services.
Engage with residents through door knocking, public events, outreach activities, school assemblies, and community sessions.
Promote food waste recycling, environmental initiatives, and sustainable behaviors.
