Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
UN Women Pakistan has proven that if women's access to resources improves, capacities enhance, and social norms and hostile environments are tackled, it will lead to women’s active participation in both rural and urban economies. This, in turn, will reduce women's economic vulnerabilities and contribute to sustainable, climate-friendly growth. Several impactful projects have been initiated to enhance the economic resilience and empowerment of women across various regions.
