The Radiologic Special Procedure Technologist is responsible for use of complex radiographic equipment in completing specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angiography, vessel embolization, chemo-infusions, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures and operates specialized equipment.
• Prepares sterile fields and proper equipment for specialized procedures.
• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed age-specific safety standards.
• Detects and reports to supervisor any malfunction of the equipment and accessories.
• Makes decisions using own best judgment on matters, when supervisor is unavailable.
• Communicates with and reassures patients.
