Role Overview

New Zealand Police is offering an opportunity to join the Police Prosecution Service (PPS) as a Prosecutor based in Nelson (Tasman District Headquarters). The role involves gaining a sound knowledge of prosecution processes, advocacy, and court practices, and working with a diverse group of Constabulary prosecutors, Police Employee lawyers, and support staff. Responsibilities include out‑of‑court case management such as file analysis, writing submissions, liaising with police investigators and defence counsel, as well as courtroom advocacy from first appearance courts to judge‑alone trials and sentencing hearings.
