The Primary Care Business Services/Referrals Specialist functions in a supportive role in the healthcare team to facilitate the patient flow in the practice. Responsible for performing all business functions including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, patient registration, insurance verification, copay and point of service collections, pre-certifications, prior authorizations, referrals, chart prep, managing incoming and outgoing faxes and providing clerical support to the providers and staff. Plays a critical role in checkout functions and is responsible for scheduling specialty referral appointments.
