What You Will Do Join a dynamic team at the forefront of earth and environmental sciences. The Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher within the Analytical Earth Sciences (EES-15) Group. EES-15 is a diverse group focusing on experimental, analytical, and field observational projects, including what is commonly characterized as traditional geosciences, including structural geology, mineralogy, and more. The selected candidate will prepare, collect, and analyze observational data on rock deformation from the micron scale to the kilometer scale. Integrating new data with information in reports and published literature will be necessary to understand complex rock deformation behavior. These data will likely be messy and/or include unintuitive results, requiring careful analysis and creativity to interpret. A willingness to challenge conventional wisdom is essential.
