**Description**

Pipefitter II is responsible for assembling, layout, installing and maintaining pipe systems on steam, fluid or gas systems. Pipefitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site including in buildings, outside, and inside structures, i.e., tanks or boilers. The work may also include working in underground (excavations) areas and working at heights more than 300 ft.

+ Apply mathematics to solve problems

+ Assist in fabricating and installing gaskets and pipe fit

+ Assist in performing cutting/threading operations using a machine

+ Assist in using measuring tools and portable power tools

+ Assist in making decisions based on measurable criteria

+ Testing pipe and tube installations

+ Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
