**Job Summary and Qualifications**

**The Phlebotomist is responsible for preforming blood collection procedures within areas of competency. Receives and processes laboratory specimens, answers department phone, inventory and receives supplies.**

**When acting as the Laboratory Assistant, in addition to Phlebotomist duties, responsible to coordinate collections among Phlebotomist. Prepare and process samples for testing and reference lab testing.**

**Job Requirements / Qualifications**

**Education: High School or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred.**

**Licensure/Certification: None**

**Experience: One-year hospital preferred.**
