Job Description

In this role, the Payroll Operations Stabilization Lead provides daily operational leadership across UCOP's payroll function, ensuring end‐to‐end processing is accurate, timely, and compliant. The position manages escalations for complex payroll issues—including retroactive adjustments, off‐cycle payments, earn‐code discrepancies, and high‐visibility cases—while coordinating closely with HR, Benefits, Timekeeping, the UCPath Center, and campus partners to resolve systemic problems. The lead monitors pay cycles and validates transactions, implements stabilization controls such as audit checkpoints and reconciliation routines, and drives root‐cause analysis to reduce recurring errors. They also support system stabilization by identifying configuration gaps, testing fixes, and validating downstream impacts.
