Client Description

The Alexandria VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) is a Joint Commission accredited, complexity level 3 facility serving Veterans within 23 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes. The main facility is located in Pineville, Louisiana with community based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) that are VA staffed in Jennings, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Natchitoches, and Fort Polk, Louisiana. This health care system provides outpatient care and inpatient care as follows:

• Primary Care;

• Inpatient acute medical care without an intensive care unit (no critical care);

• Urgent Care Clinic with limited hours (no Emergency Department);

• Outpatient Mental Health Care provided by coordinating multiple disciplines such as Psychiatry, Psychology, and Social Work to provide programs in intensive case management, individual and group counseling, post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, ...
