**Job Summary and Qualifications**

Performs a wide variety of clerical, communication, and computer assisted functions necessary for the efficient scheduling of surgical cases. He/she is responsible for the daily scheduling of cases. He/she consults with the Charge Nurse/Director to manage scheduling conflicts and emergency add-ons.

+ Adapts to changes in volume/acuity demands.
+ Supports responsible staffing decisions (cancels, places staff on hold/on call, calls in on hold/on call staff appropriately).
+ Coordinates scheduling of surgical cases by working closely with physicians’ office staff in providing the scheduled times to meet their needs.
