Organization Description

Simon Kenton Council, Scouting America, is one of the largest councils in the country, serving 18 counties in central and southern Ohio and Greenup County in northern Kentucky. With more than 25 employees, over 3,700 volunteers, and over 11,000 youth participants, the council focuses on character development, strong morals, and citizenship through over 300 chartered organizations. The council delivers confidence-building adventures and hands-on experiences that help youth discover their capabilities and earn recognition for genuine achievement. Programs range from outdoor expeditions to STEM activities and are guided by committed mentors who foster resilience, leadership, and real-world skills.
