UNIT DESCRIPTION:

2ndFloor GPU is a 32 private room post-surgical unit with a specialty focused on Orthopedic surgery patients. Most of our patients come from PACU after several different surgeries including bariatrics, urology, colorectal, orthopedics of course, and a variety of general surgery patients. The rest of our patients come from the ED for general med/surg admissions. 2GPU is a great unit to hone and expand your nursing skills through the multitude of opportunities allotted to us through our patient population.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), performs specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs of the patient. Provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.
