About the role

An opportunity for a Skipper for the Mussel Farm vessel the ‘Erin’ a < 24m vessel has become available. Our Mussel Farm is based in Big Glory Bay – Stewart Island one of New Zealand’s national parks, and on a good day it’s one of the most beautiful places you can be. The Erin has a good record of training new staff to fit into our business – the new skipper on this vessel will carry on this good work.

The main work of the role includes harvesting/seeding, contributing to the daily mussel harvest, seeding of spat, reseeding & block work, weekly maintenance/cleaning of equipment. Assisting with tasks on the Salmon Farm may include salmon nets, block work.

This is a full-time permanent position, working Sunday to Thursday on Stewart Island.
