The duties and responsibilities of the LPN Charge Nurse include providing direct nursing care to residents in an ALF unit under the direction of the Administrator and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, med techs, RAs and third party providers and others, as directed. Also to observe and report symptoms and conditions of residents/patients, assist in administering treatments, as prescribed by a physician and maintain records reflecting resident condition and treatment. Identify nursing service problems and assist in their solution and cooperate with other members of the nursing team and personnel of other departments. Assign duties to non-professional nursing personnel, supervise and evaluate work performance, and assist in maintaining a physical, social and psychological environment that is conducive to the interest and welfare of residents.
