Requirements

• Appropriate qualifications that allow registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Neurosurgery.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Neurosurgery.
• No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Neurosurgery. An advantage is 3 years’ experience after registration as a General Surgeon.
• Strong record of clinical governance, clinical expertise, surgical skills, and training and teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Publication record is an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal, leadership, communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Sound knowledge of human resources management, budgeting and information management.
• Knowledge of relevant health and public service legislation, regulations, policies and medical ethics.
