This is the top position in The Post and Courier's Pee Dee newsroom and is responsible for daily news gathering across all topic areas. This person manages a fast-moving, digital newsroom of two reporters and two interns in cooperation with our partners at Francis Marion University. The right person must be a strong presence in the community and will be a player-coach who contributes to the daily and enterprise news report.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deep understanding of digital media and a start-up mentality, work ethic and energy. A competitive spirit will be necessary as this digital-only newsroom takes on more traditional competitors in the market. This is a job for a self-starter who relishes the fast pace of digital news and thrives under the pressure of lofty goals and expectations.
