About the role

At Westpac New Zealand, we’re committed to building a stronger, safer financial system. We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Sanctions Advisory to provide independent oversight and expert advice on sanctions risk within our Risk function. This is a high-impact role where you will support the effectiveness of the sanctions control framework, providing advice on complex and sensitive matters while ensuring alignment with global sanctions regimes and regulatory expectations. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Product and Operations to provide independent challenge, support decision-making, and embed robust risk management practices across the business.

• Provide expert advice on complex sanctions matters, including high-risk transactions and customer scenarios
• Oversee and assess the effectiveness of the sanctions control framework, including control testing and issue remediation
