Ability to monitor resident condition and notify RN Supervisor, charge nurse, and/or physician promptly of changes in resident conditions. Notifies sponsor/next of kin according to facility protocol.
Knowledge of the intended use and negative reactions of medications ordered for residents.
Aware of emergency procedures of this facility in the event of cardiac arrest, diabetic reactions, airway obstruction, respiratory arrest/distress, seizures, head injuries, and fractures.
Respond promptly to all emergencies.
Respond promptly and investigate all alarms on unit.
Follow instructions given by the RN for resident care.
Ability to document medications, procedures, and resident condition per facility protocol.
Ability to receive verbal and phone orders from physicians/nurse practitioner and transcribe accordingly.
