JOB SUMMARY

The Legal Counsel is accountable serve as the legal authority for the corporation. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this position is responsible to provide legal services to the Corporation and its subsidiaries; ensuring the maximum protection of legal rights and to maintain operations within the limits prescribed by legislation while aligning departmental efforts with SaskPower’s strategic goals and objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide informal (verbal) and formal (written) opinion on legal matters
• Meet with and advise employees at all levels regarding land, corporate and commercial and other legal issues
• Draft required documentation including without limitation, commercial contracts, land purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, correspondence, and submissions
