Position Summary

The Junior Sous Chef supports the Pastry leadership team in the daily operations of the pastry department, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to standards. This role is hands-on in production and service, while beginning to develop leadership skills through supervising, mentoring, and supporting the pastry team.

Reports To : Pastry Chef

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising pastry cooks and externs in the preparation of daily mise en place and production
  • Taste and evaluate mise en place to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards
  • Support the maintenance of cleanliness and organization of walk-ins and dry storage in accordance with HACCP and restaurant standards
  • Assist in maintaining HACCP documentation, ensuring accuracy and daily compliance
