Job Description Summary

:Responsible for assisting the Pharmacists by preparing sterile IV products in the IV rooms. Also, responsible for stocking and maintaining inventory in the IV areas. Under the direct supervision of the Infusion Pharmacist on duty. Responsible for the assigned shift (Monday thru Friday, 8a - 5p. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.>

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assists in pulling charts and calling respiratory patients to determine needed refills and shipping dates for their respiratory medications.

Prepares needed IV products using sterile technique, including calculating needed volumes for both single and multi-additive solutions.

Determines priority of needed IV preparations for the day and compounds or assists in compounding using sterile technique.

Retrieves needed respiratory medications and readies them for the pharmacists to dispense.
