Help define the technology roadmap and standards for database technologies covering traditional RDBMSs as well as modern NoSQL / specialized databases
Implement and maintain full operational lifecycle procedures from deployment, to maintenance/patching, backup/recovery and decomm using extensive automation
Provide 24x7 operational support of database systems with responsibility for uptime, overall system performance, identifying root cause and implementing improvements to avoid recurrence
Perform security compliance activities, e.g. security reviews, implementing security controls, logging etc.
Provide end-to-end support and advisory including support required by application developers
Any relevant ad-hoc duties
