Hyperbaric Technologist Certified

The Hyperbaric Technologist Certified administers hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy to patients as prescribed by the Physician and under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse (RN). This role prepares the patient for HBO treatment and assists the patient with transfer into equipment. Monitors and operates controls to pressurize and depressurize the chamber according to policy and physician order. Collects various data and reports to nursing team. Documents required elements of treatment. Assesses data and discriminates between normal and abnormal findings. Educates patients on hyperbaric therapy and assists with basic support care including ADL's, mobility, transfers, hygiene, and toileting. This role is responsible for ensuring safety requirements are always met and the facility is compliant with licensing and regulatory agency standards.
