The Director of the Human Resources Division for the Department of State police serves as the primary 'Appointing Authority' and is responsible for administering all human resources functions across multiple agencies, overseeing more than 2,500 sworn, civilian, and contractual positions, including personnel for the Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Vehicle Theft Prevention Council, and the Volunteers in Police Support (VIPS) program. The position's extensive responsibilities cover the full spectrum of HR management, including sworn and civilian employment processes, classification, compensation, salary administration, discipline, grievance matters, collective bargaining, and employer/employee relations.
