Overview House Counsel – Litigation Defence Counsel (Property and Casualty) role at Chubb. Chubb is a world leader in insurance with operations in 54 countries. The Litigation Counsel will report to House Counsel’s Managing Lawyer in our Toronto office.

Major Responsibilities

Maintain a high standard of legal work on all cases, including comprehensive written analyses and evaluation of liability and damages.

Manage all aspects of the litigation process as defence counsel for Chubb insureds.

Develop case resolution strategies and assist in settlement negotiations by applying appropriate litigation protocols.

Conduct discovery, mediation, pre-trial, and trial proceedings as appropriate; prepare members of the Claims team, insureds and experts for proceedings as necessary.

Research applicable laws and draft pleadings, motions, opinions, legal briefs and documents as required.
