HGV Technician - Permanent Role

Location: Derby

Salary: £37,280 - £39,862 per annum (dependent on experience)

On-target earnings: Up to £42,000 (including standby, call‑out, and bank holiday payments)

Hours: 37 hours/week, Monday-Friday, daytime with some flexibility

About the Role

A leading local authority is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their dedicated and friendly transport team. This is a diverse and hands‑on role, working across a fleet of heavy and light commercial vehicles, including specialist vehicles such as refuse collection and road sweepers.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Work on electrical and hydraulic systems
• Welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Participation in an out-of-hours call‑out standby rota, with competitive standby and call‑out pay
