**Purpose and Scope:**
The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic operates, repairs, maintains, and function tests heavy power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, skid steers, backhoe, dump trucks and various flightline support vehicles and associated equipment.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
+ Conducts Mobile Maintenance duties. Replace and repair hydraulic lines, pneumatic equipment, air conditioning systems, wheels/tires, wipers, and light bulbs.
+ Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
+ Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment, calibration devices, gauges, etc.
