The Role

We are looking for a part‑time, permanent Forensic Psychiatrist to work within a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment in a hospital, outpatient and community setting, including courts and corrections.

• Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment in hospital and outpatient settings.
• Liaise with courts, corrections and community services.
• Collaborate with five other Forensic Psychiatrists and multidisciplinary staff.
• Offer support and supervision in new practice areas such as court work and legal issues.
• Work flexible, part‑time hours as agreed with the team.

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Previous forensic experience valued but not essential.
• Strong commitment to a supportive, multidisciplinary approach to forensic psychiatry.
